Biking & Trekking experience:
It was almost 2 years & 4 months I last visited to Shivagange Betta i.e. too trekking event with BTC(Bangalore Trekking club) on 5th May 2013. For more details on my Shivagange Betta trek in the year 2013, visit the link : Trek to Shivagange.
I was one of organisers of BAT now so thought why not start Biking events. Decided to organize Biking + Trekking event to Shivagange Betta on 30th August 2015. It was 1st Biking event of BAT since its inception on 8th July 2015. Prepared itinerary and posted event in BAT website as well as mailed to group on 24th August 2015. We are not sure of registrations cos its 1st Biking event of newly founded group. Finally, we managed to get 5 registrations including myself. As per organizer responsibility, sent event shortlist & preparation mail to shortlisted participants. Biker & Pillion details also shared in the mail.
Note: For Biking events, Petrol expenses will be shared equally by Biker & Pillion. It is understanding between Biker & Pillion.
Day in Brief:
My plan is to start at 7:00 AM from Yeshwanthpur so we can reach Dobaspet around 8:00 AM. Have breakfast and start trek to Shivagange Betta around 8:30 AM which is 6 Kms. from Dobaspet. As usual due to delayed arrival of participants to meetup point my plan went half an hour late then planned. My pillion made little delay that made me reach meetup point around 7:00 AM. In remaining 4 adventurers, 3 already reached meetup point around 6:25 AM itself. One guy made delay and he reached meetup point around 7:20 AM. I have done formalities of signing Indemnity Bond as per BAT rules.
We filled up our bike tanks near Yeshwanthpur and started Biking at 7:30 AM from Yeshwanthpur. It was Sunday morning and not much traffic also there. I have informed bikers to be in group and told them our next stop is Dobaspet. Since not much traffic in Tumkur road, we reached Dobaspet by 8:15 AM. Had breakfast and packed parcel for the lunch at one hotel at Dobaspet. Around 9:00 AM, started towards Shivagange base which is 6 Kms. from dobaspet. Reached the base and had self-intro session. Briefed about BAT and its agenda. Started trek to Shivagange Betta around 9:30 AM.
It was good hike for all of them and for me it was 2nd one to the famous hill of Tumkur.
Reached top around 11:15 AM. Relaxed & explored the top. Took many group pics.
BangaloreAdvenTurers at Shivagange Betta after reaching the top
Started to the base around 12:30 PM and reached base at 1:45 PM. It was easy descending comparing to ascending at Shivagange Betta for 6 adventurers.
Relaxed for half an hour. Took few group pics and started around 2:30 PM. Reached meetup point around 3:15 PM at Bengaluru. Decided to skip lunch since few of them had on hill rest are not hungry 😛
Had feedback session and told good bye to all adventurers at 3:30 PM.
Note: I haven’t clicked much pics this time, For more information on Shivagange Betta visit my earlier blog.
